If you use animation, you’ll find it a lot easier in version 7.
It’s become the industry standard tool for the artists working with 3D human figures and recent additions to it’s toolset including dynamic hair and clothes and massive improvements in rendering have made its image both realistic and controllable.

Poser 7 Receives Editor's Choice Award by MacLife Magazine, August 2007
|
For animators who can't stomach the idea of spending thousands of dollars on software, Poser 7 is the ideal choice. Poser is all about designing and editing 3D figures, and version 7 ships with some new human models (named Simon and Sydney) as well as a slew of third-party forms, including an eagle, a wolf, a crab, a cockroach, and not one, but two alien beings. There are enough sentient life forms here for just about any 3D creative endeavor.

Originally designed as a quick-reference aid, in the past ten years Poser has become an essential tool for digital artists of all levels. In fact, you’re likely to see Poser’s distinctive characters anywhere the human figure is needed in video, print or on the web. Poser’s overall performance has been improved with support for the multi processors systems and the native support for Intel Macs. Productivity is enhanced by better-organized assets, such as lights, cameras, scripts and content.
Poser is an indispensable tool for the professional ad amateur CG artist. Poser features similar tools to those found in professional applications but at a fraction of the cost and at a shallower leaning curve.

Using Cheaper, Easier 3D Software
There are two low-cost but very high-end software packages on the market that should be on every designer’s computer, Poser 6 and Vue 5 Infinite. With a total investment of under $1,000 these two packages could save you time, money and downtime from migraines. With Poser and Vue you have both an in-house library of human models and the software to generate any interior or exterior scene imaginable.
